Camellia japonica ‘Springhead Gem’
This week’s Spotlight on Varieties selection is an incredible flowering Japonica called ‘Springhead Gem’. This is another outstanding variety introduced by Dr. Frank Wilson of Leslie, Georgia. This stunning variety was first introduced in 1995.
Everyday, CamelliaWeb Express & the Southeastern Camellia Society features a ‘Camellia of the Day on our Facebook Page. Although we usually generate many “Likes” and Comments on most varieties featured, ‘Springhead Gem’ drew far and away more attention and comments than any other variety that we have featured.
Whether it is the formal double form, the swirled incurved petals, or the luscious color combination, ‘Springhead Gem’ is one big show off. We think it is something special, and we hope that you love it as much as we do.
